Czech leadership says it is ready to negotiate with Russia


The Czech senior leadership has declared its readiness to unlock relations with Russia, which have been burdened with a number of technical, administrative and historical topics. This was announced by the press service of the Administration of the President of the Czech Republic following the meeting held on March 11. President Milos Zeman, Prime Minister, Speakers of both Houses of Parliament, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Defence and Minister of the Interior took part in the meeting of the highest leadership of the Republic. According to the report, the top Czech statesmen are ready for meaningful and constructive dialogue with Russia in accordance with the positions of the European Union and NATO in order to unlock mutual relations. According to the Czech leadership, the key issue for progress in the relationship between the two countries, which are currently burdened with a number of technical, administrative and historical topics, is progress in the implementation of the Minsk agreements by the Russian Federation. It is stressed that the Czech Republic expects a quick, pragmatic and balanced solution to these topics. The meeting of the Presidents of the Czech Republic and Russia in May should help overcome the negative content of the relationship. According to the news agency, in an interview published on March 5 in the newspaper Pravda, Milos Zeman confirmed that he plans to fly to Moscow to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
