Latvia introduced an emergency situation due to Covid-19 before Easter, April 12

At the extraordinary session of the Cabinet of Ministers on March 12, it was decided to introduce an emergency situation in Latvia in connection with coronavirus, writes the portal nra.lv. The Ministry of Health has been appointed responsible for the coordination of agencies in the PE regime. State and municipal institutions should assess the possibility of remote provision of services. Parents of children attending pre-school should provide the administration with a written statement that the child had no contact with infected COVID-19 and did not visit the countries and territories where the epidemic spread. Full-time education in all educational institutions of the country, excluding state examinations, has also been suspended. Since March 13, all mass and public events with a number of more than 200 people have been banned. Travel companies are invited to move the COVID-19 tours to the affected areas to other dates. It is also recommended that all companies cancel travel to contaminated areas.
