Residents of Latvia may be urged to observe distance in shops

The State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of Latvia Zaiga Liepina said that the Ministry wants to introduce new requirements for visitors to any shopping centers, shops, pharmacies, etc. This is written by the Diena.lv portal. She clarified that residents of the country could be called upon to observe distance when shopping and to stay at least two meters apart. Failure to comply, in her view, should be punished with fines against a merchant or visitors. The Government of Latvia believes that the criteria for small shops where this requirement cannot be ensured should be relaxed to ensure the operation of outlets. A final decision on this issue will be taken tomorrow, 17 March, at a meeting of the Government of Latvia.
