The number of coronavirus cases in Iran exceeded 12,000

The number of coronavirus cases in Iran increased to 12,729. On March 14, the head of the Department of Public Relations of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education of the Republic Kiyanush Jahanpur told journalists. Over the past 24 hours, 1365 new cases of COVID-2019 infection have been recorded. The number of deaths as a result of coronavirus was 611. The first cases of coronavirus infection in Iran were detected on 19 February in Qom Province. Due to the spread of coronavirus in the country, educational institutions have been closed, many countries have restricted communication with Iran, neighbouring countries have blocked borders. Earlier, the news agency reported on the United Nations call for international support for Iran in the fight against coronavirus.
