Paris Orly Airport can only open in autumn
Orly Airport in Paris, closed due to the threat of coronavirus infection, can only open in autumn. This is reported on May 3 by Les Echos newspaper. It is explained that currently only one French airline Air France performs all commercial services. Even after the resumption of flights by other airlines in the summer of this year, the capacity of Ruassi Airport Charles de Gaulle will be sufficient to provide air travel traffic in France. At the same time, it is specified that in order to resume the full operation of airports it is necessary to wait for the opening of borders. The head of Air France Benjamin Smith himself noted that it will take about two years to reach the previous volume of transportation of the company. Recall, at the beginning of April this year the European Commission (EC) recommended to the countries belonging to the European Union to extend until May 15 the ban on the movement of citizens inside the Schengen treaty area. Earlier, the news agency reported that European Union countries had asked the European Commission to support airlines and allow them to choose how to reimburse passengers whose flights had been cancelled due to the threat of a coronavirus epidemic.
