Chinese Legislature Submits Updated Workplan for the Year


The Permanent Council of the National People's Congress (NPC) of the PRC has published a revised annual work plan, Xinhua News Agency reported on June 20. The work plan proposes 29 new pieces of legislation to be considered in a year, including amendments to the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act and the Emergency Response Act. In addition, the law on futures and the law on the protection of personal data will be considered. The plan also proposed expediting the formulation of relevant laws to protect national security in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR).
