Dropping dead: how the British handed the Cossacks of the Soviet Union
On 1 June 1945 in the vicinity of the Austrian Lienz, the British began issuing the USSR of the Cossacks who fought during world war II on the side of Nazi Germany. Soviet citizens were a part of them. Many were emigrants during the Civil war or their descendants. The Cossacks tried to resist deportation, but were massively killed by English bullets. To escape and survive managed units. In despair they committed suicide right in echelons on the road in the USSR.
