Latvian diplomats in Cairo revealed coronavirus


Two Latvian diplomats working in Egypt identified coronavirus. This was announced on June 26 by Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Martins Dreger to reporters of the Latvian Television News Service. The ambassador and his family are not infected with coronavirus and continue their work in Cairo, but consular assistance is temporarily limited, Dreger said. According to him, at the moment, the consular department of the Latvian Embassy in Egypt can provide consular support exclusively in remote mode. It is noted that this is the first case of coronavirus infection of Latvian diplomats in the performance of their official duties.
