Why did the Churches not rebel against the transformation of Hagia Sophia into a mosque?

In response to Ankara's statements about its readiness to turn the Aya-Sofia Museum into a mosque, Christian hierarchs began to denounce such statements rather sluggishly. Why the reaction of the Christian Churches was not cheerful and friendly, says the editor of the news agency Stanislav Stremidlovsky.
