Reboot Visibility: Why Nur Otan Holds Primaries

The ruling party in Kazakhstan, Nur Otan, holds primaries from August 17 to October 3. The winners will be included in the party lists of future candidates for deputies of parliament and local representative bodies. Nursultan Nazarbayev, the leader of the party, said that the goal of the primaries is to reset it. A total of 10,990 applications have already been submitted. However, a number of issues remain with the ruling party.
