Roast chickens in the rooms: how Fidel Castro visited in New York
On September 18, 1960, Fidel Castro arrived in New York to attend a session of the UN General Assembly. The visit of the Cuban delegation was accompanied by scandals: the guests were evicted from the hotel and, according to them, constantly repaired various obstacles to them. In those days, the commandant met Nikita Khrushchev, with whom they had a good relationship. Castro's speech from the UN rostrum entered the Guinness Book of Records as the longest in history: he spoke for 4 hours and 29 minutes.
